IT's most Trending Segment in 2012

Until 2011, Business Process Automation had taken the lead in budget allocation. In 2012, however, Data Management has eclipsed other segments to take up the primary role in the world of IT.

A report by Corporate Executive Board reveals that in 2012, CIOs intend to spend 39% of their budget on information management (compared to 36% in 2011). It has crossed Busines Automation's allocated budget of 32%.

Similarly, a report by Ovum predicts that information and data management will be the fastest growing sector in IT in the next four years, with its compounding annual growth to be 10%.

“The volume of information within enterprises continues to grow at an astonishing rate, and investment is needed to both manage this information and turn it into actionable intelligence”,said Ovum analyst Tim Jennings.
